MAMOU It is with great sadness that the family of Blaney Naquin, 83, announces his passing on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at his residence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at 2:00 PM at St. Anns Catholic Church in Mamou. Rite of Committal will follow in the New St. Anns Cemetery with Father Gill Dutel Celebrant.

Blaney was a salesman at Lone Star Feed and Fertilizer for over 36 years. He served as an usher at St. Anns Catholic Church for countless years, was a diehard fan of LSU Tigers and the New Orleans Saints. He enjoyed his coffee at the YNot Stop every morning. Blaney was an avid camper and hunter he also adored spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He leaves behind two sons, Jessie Naquin and ex wife Phylis of Lafayette and Gary Naquin of Reddell two daughters, Joy Smith and husband John of Roanoke and Barbara Comeaux and husband Tony of Reddell six grandchildren, Shelly Smith of Lake Charles, Scott Smith of Youngsville, Mike Comeaux of Mamou, Phillip Comeaux of Reddell, Kevin Naquin of Duson and Kimberly Fontenot of Lafayette one step grandchild, Kalem Fontenot of Pitkin nine great grandchildren, Cassie, Colt, John Colin, Alyssa, Jace, Kaleigh, Natalie and Baylen. He now rests in Heaven with his wife, Gladys Naquin, his parents, Edius and Josephine Naquin, two brothers, Allen and Gussie Naquin and a sister, Mildred Brignac.

Pall bearers will be Scott, Mike, Kevin, Phillip, Ferrel and Dwayne.

Readers will be Kimberly and Bennie.

At the request of the family visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Mamou on Monday, June 3, 2013 from 8:00 AM until 10:00 PM and again on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 from 8:00 am until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM Monday evening.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting mass intentions and donations be made to St. Judes Childrens Hospital and MD Anderson.
