Galen Luke Thomas, born on July 4, 2002, in Kingwood, Texas, departed this life on Sunday, August 3, 2025. He was a beloved son, brother, grandson, and friend who touched the lives of many during his short time on earth. Galen served as a Learning Ambassador for Amazon, reflecting his commitment to education and community service. With an associate's degree in teaching from Lone Star College-Kingwood, Galen was recently accepted into Prairie View A&M University to pursue a degree in computer science, illustrating his dedication to personal growth and learning.
Galen had a vibrant personality, cherished his family deeply, and found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was known for his love of his truck and a profound connection to his faith, often turning to the Bible for inspiration and guidance. His interests included playing basketball, appreciating art and cars, and exploring big houses, hobbies that showcased his curious and adventurous spirit.
He is survived by his loving parents, Maynard and Bridget Thomas of Humble, Texas; his siblings, Isaiah Thomas of Humble, Texas; Braion Thomas-Guillory and her husband, Samuel, of Orlando, Florida; and Harmoni Thomas of Humble, Texas. Galen also leaves behind his paternal grandmother, Verna Thomas of Rayne, Louisiana; several aunts and uncles, including Andrea Williams and her husband, Landon, of Humble, Texas; Naomi Thomas of Lafayette, Louisiana; Fanley V. Thomas and his wife, Marissa, of Humble, Texas; Jamaal Thomas of Rayne, Louisiana; and Albert Tezeno and his wife, Sophia, of McKinney, Texas.
Galen is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Fanley and Florence Thomas, and his paternal grandfather, Steve Thomas.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation at St. Paul Baptist Church, located at 1300 5th St, Mamou, Louisiana 70554, on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 8:00 AM until the time of services. A funeral service will take place at the same location at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Albert Johnson officiating. A burial will follow at Zion Travelers Baptist Cemetery.
Galen's spirit will be remembered fondly, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
