MAMOU-Funeral Services will be held at a 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Mamou on Saturday, June 23, 2018, for Faye Chapman Marcantel, 76, who passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 in Eunice, LA.

Father Billy Massie, Pastor at St. Ann's Catholic Church, will be celebrant of the mass and will conduct all funeral services.

Burial will take place in the Pine Point Cemetery in Mamou.

Faye Chapman Marcantel was born in Mamou on June 11, 1942 to Herman Chapman and Mable Guillory. Faye was a proud graduate of Mamou High School class of 1961; where she excelled in sports. She was a member of the state championship basketball team. After graduation she went on to become a Licensed Respiratory Therapist. Faye loved her job and spent the next 48 years of her life working as a Respiratory Therapist. She spent most of her career at Savoy Medical Center, but did work a short time in Oakdale and other numerous hospitals. She was a huge fan of football and horseracing. Her favorite team to watch and cheer for was the New Orleans Saints. Her greatest love was the love she had for her family. Some of her most cherished family memories was spending time crabbing at Holly Beach, and cooking for them. She loved her family with all her heart and soul. Faye was a marvelous lady who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sons, Andre "Mayo" and wife Lynette and Scott Marcantel; daughter, Monica Marcantel; grandchildren, Isaac LaFleur, Jeremy LaFleur, Mariah Marcantel, Tanner Marcantel, Hunter Marcantel, and Dustin Ross; great-granchildren, Oliver Dean Johnson and Blakelyn Johnson; and brother, Pat Chapman.

Faye is preceded in death by her parents, Herman Chapman and Mable Guillory and step-father, Lionel Ardoin.

The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin's Funeral Home of Mamou on Friday, June 22, 2018 from 2:00 PM until 10:00 PM. A rosary will be recited by Deacon Gary Gaudin at 6:00 PM Friday evening. Visitation will resume on Saturday, June 23, 2018 from 8:00 AM until time of service.
