MAMOU~ It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Etha Verne Ardoin, 82 announce her passing on Friday, January 9, 2015 at 7:30 p.m.at Promise Long Term Care Hospital in Baton Rouge. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 12, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Mamou. Rite of Committal will follow in the New St. Ann's Mausoleum in Mamou wit Father Mark Melancon as Celebrant.
A loving mother, grandmother and friend, Etha Verne was a giving person to all that needed help. Her family was her pride and Joy and was employed at Savoy Medical Center.
Etha Verne will be greatly missed by her two children, Wanda Manuel and her husband, Gene of Walker and Wendell Ardoin of Lafayette; three grandchildren, Lonnie, Jamie and Ryan Manuel; five great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She will now reunite in Heaven with her husband, Armile Ardoin, her parents, Doxie and Regina Deshotel Vidrine and one brother, Clifford Vidrine. They surely await her arrival with open arms and joyous hearts.
At the request of the family visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Mamou on Sunday, January 11, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening by Deacon Chuck Ortego. The funeral home will reopen at 9:00 a.m. on Monday until time of services.
