Mr. Deshotels a resident of Mamou, died on May 22, 2008 at Savoy Medical center after an extended illness.

He is survived by his wife, Diana Deshotels of Mamou; two sons, Elward J. Deshotels, Jr. of Mamou and Craig Deshotels of Houston, TX; one daughter, Sonya Deshotels of Mamou; four brothers, Wesley Deshotels of Mamou, Errol Deshotels of Oberlin, Michael Deshotels of Zachary, and Danny Deshotels of Lettsworth; two grandchildren, Garrett Deshotels of Houston, TX and Katelyn Deshotels of Mamou; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin Friday, May 23 2008 at 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. and will reopen Saturday, May 24, 2008 at 8:00 a.m. until time of services.

Ardoin Funeral Home of Mamou was in charge of arrangements.
