MAMOUIt is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Elvin TBruce Fontenot 79 announces his passing on Thursday, March 20, 2014, at 2:05 pm at St. Martin Hospital in Breaux Bridge. Chapel services will be held on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at 12:30 pm at the Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel in Mamou. Burial will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Park in Ville Platte with John JJ Jenkins and Rev. Daniel Ortego officiating.
Mr. Fontenot worked in the oilfield all of his life, loved outdoors, raising Cattle and loved Gardening.
T Bruce will be greatly missed by his wife of 32 years, Kathleen Kathy Smith Fontenot six sons, Elvin Tooky Fontenot of Cecelia, Gary Neil Fontenot and wife, Veronica Sue of Dry Prong, James Brent Fontenot and wife, Laura of New Iberia, Paul Dwayne Fontenot of Lake Providence, Michael Chad Fontenot and wife, Nicole Marie of Church Point and John Allen Fontenot and wife, Tina of Mamou five daughters, Mona Jenkins and husband John J.J.of Basile, Deborah Fontenot of Eunice, Donna Whittington and late husband, Gregory of Opelousas, Lisa K. Fontenot of Baton Rouge and Michelle Virgen and husband, Coby of Eunice two brothers, Jasper Fontenot and wife, Donna Sue of Ville Platte and John Wayne Fontenot and wife, Jodi of Lake Charles one sister, Tracy Fruge and husband, Joe of Lake Charles thirtythree grandchildren and twentytwo great grandchildren.
T Bruce will now reunite in Heaven with his parents, Alcius and Bernice Vidrine Fontenot,
They surely await his arrival with open arms and joyous hearts.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home on Saturday, March 22, 2014 from 2:00 pm until 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Home will reopen on Sunday from 8:00 am until time of services.
