MAMOU It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family announces the passing of their beloved, mother and grandmother Elverta Guillory, 94, on March 8, 2013. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Anns Catholic Church in Mamou, at 10:00 am on Monday, March 11 2013, with Father Mark Melancon officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Augustine Cemetery in Basile, La with Father David Hebert officiating.
Elverta was a resident of Camelot Nursing Home in Broussard, La. Her caretakers said that she has left a lasting impression, more than anyone they have ever taken care of previously. Her greatest passion in life was sewing. Elverta welcomed anyone and everyone with wide open arms into her home. She had little and gave much
Elverta leaves behind a loving and grateful family including three sons, Ruthvan Guillory and wife Dean of Iowa, La, Nathan Guillory and wife Gail of Lafayette and Leonard Guillory and wife Carleen of Lafayette three daughters, Myrtle Guillory of Lafayette, Linda G. Fontenot and husband Wayne of Mamou and Sandra Guillory and husband Elvin of Mamou nineteen grandchildren, forty one great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Lucius Guillory, her parents Euzie and Louisa Fruge and her brother Lloyd Billeaudeaux.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Mamou on Sunday, March 10, 2013 from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm Sunday evening.The Funeral Home will reopen at 8:00 am Monday until time of services.
