MAMOUIt is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of their beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Terrebone General Hospital in Houma. She was 93. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 04, 2011 at St. Anns Catholic Church in Mamou. Interment will follow in the New St. Ann Cemetery with Father Chanh officiating.
Elodie was a housewife who took joy in caring for her family. She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Hilton J. Gradney of Oakdale five daughters, Helen Mitchell of Houma, Ellen Fontenot of Malin, OR, Louise G. Papillion of Lafayette, Ethel M. Papillion of Ruston, and Emily G. Davis of Beaumont, TX eighteen grandchildren and twentynine great grandchildren.
Elodie now rests in Heaven with her beloved husband, Richard Edges Gradenigos and her parents, Augustine and Felicia Verrette.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Mamou on Friday, June 3rd from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Saturday, June 4th from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm Friday evening.
