MAMOUIt is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Ella Fontenot, 87 announces her passing on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 11:00 am at St. Anns Catholic Church in Mamou. Rite of Committal will follow in the Ceasar Cemetery with Father Thainese officiating.
Ella worked at Savoy Medical Center for 25 years, volunteered at St. Francis Center, was an Adorer at St. Anns Adoration Chapel and was a great mother and friend to all.
Ella will be greatly missed by her three children, Bessie Rene Jackson and husband, Anderson of Monroe, La, Judy Ardoin and husband, Jerry of Katy, Tx and Sidney Fontenot, Jr. and wife, Rene of Longview, Tx. One brother, Julius Thomas of Mamou ten grandchildren and fourteen greatgrandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Fontenot Sr her parents, Dallas and Octavia Noel Thomas.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Mamou on Saturday, September 14, 2013 from 9:00 am until time of services .A Rosary will be recited at 10:30 am Saturday.
