Elda Granger Deshotel was born Sunday, June 22, 1930, in Eunice, Louisiana to the late Telis and Sileman Granger.  Elda dedicated her life to serving others and made a significant impact during her time as a sterilizing technician at Savoy Medical Center. For over 40 years, she worked diligently to ensure the safety and well-being of the patients and staff. Her commitment and dedication to her profession were truly admirable.

Outside of work, Elda was an active member of her community. She volunteered at the St. Francis Center in Mamou, where she selflessly helped those in need. Additionally, she was known as a compassionate "Pink" lady at Savoy Medical Center. Elda's kindness knew no bounds, and she brought comfort and cheer to everyone she encountered.  In her free time, Elda enjoyed playing the slot machines at the casino and her monthly Pokeno games. These were favorite pastimes that brought her great joy. Elda's zest for life was evident in everything she did.

Elda is survived by her daughter, Diana Dewy and husband, Ken of Mariana, Florida; three grandchildren, Jacob Bergeron, Jessie Bergeron, and Katrina Holder and husband, Jimmy; and four great-grandchildren, Jada Bergeron, Dawson Bergeron, William Holder, and Madison Holder.

Elda is preceded in death by her loving husband of over 50 years, Icy Deshotel. Together they built a beautiful life filled with love and cherished memories. She is also preceded in death by her daughter, Loretta Deshotel Bergeron; her sister, Mercedine Aymond, and her brother, Lewis "LJ" James Granger.

To honor Elda's life and pay tribute to her memory, visitation services will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Mamou on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m.   Visitation services will continue on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Elda's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She was a shining example of selflessness and kindness, and her legacy of love will continue to inspire us all. May she rest in eternal peace.
