With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Edwina Lyman Daugereaux, beloved mother, devoted spouse, and cherished friend, who departed this life on February 13, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on August 26, 1952, in Lafayette, Edwina lived a remarkable life that touched the hearts of many. She will always be remembered for her sense of humor. Her love for education extended as a teacher beyond the classroom, as she inspired countless young minds with her passion and warmth. Edwina was also a true people person; her genuine nature and joyful spirit made her a cherished friend to many in the community. Outside of her professional life, she found great joy in fishing, gardening and caring for her animals, which brought her peace and fulfillment. She cherished the simple joys of life and often brightened the days of those around her.
Edwina is survived by her beloved spouse of 51 years Louis David Daugereaux of Mamou. Their two sons, Joseph Daugereaux and his wife Kellie of Grand Prairie, and Andre Daugereaux and his wife Rebekah of Lafayette, Along with her four grandchildren, Issac, Whitley, Amelia, and Camille. Her sisters Kathrine Hess of Lafayette and Margaret Campbell of Maurice, and nieces and nephews. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a commitment to uplifting those around her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Lyman and Estelle Bourg, as well as her brother, John Lyman.
A celebration of her life will be held at a Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou on Wednesday February 18th beginning at 4:00PM till 8:00pm and continuing Thursday February 19th from 8:00am until service at 10:00am, where friends and family will gather to share memories, honor her life, and pay tribute to the remarkable woman she was. A rosery will be prayed on Wednesday at 6:00pm. Services will be held on Thursday at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou at 10:00am.
In this time of sorrow, we find solace in Edwina’s memory, as she will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her. May she rest in peace.
