Edlin Douget Falgout

Edlin Douget Falgout passed away peacefully on Monday, July 6, 2026, in the presence of her loving family after a short illness. She was born in Mamou, Louisiana, on Saturday, November 1, 1947, to the late Edley and Odette Menier Douget. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 10, 2026 at 12:00 PM at St. Ann Catholic Church in Mamou. Burial will follow in the New St. Ann Cemetery with Fr. Picard officiating services.

A woman of unwavering faith, Edlin was deeply devoted to her beliefs as a child of God and a devout Catholic. Edlin attended the Louisiana State School for the Deaf in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She graduated in 1965. Upon graduating, she remained in Baton Rouge and worked as a seamstress, showcasing her skilled hands and creative spirit.

In 1967, Edlin married David R. Falgout. Together, they moved to and started their family in Houman and later returned to her roots in Mamou where she became a dedicated homemaker.

Edlin’s memory is cherished by her daughter, Glenda Faucheux and husband, Kevin and her three grand fur babies, Oscar, Souri. and Nyx.

She is preceded in death by her husband, David R. Falgout and her parents, Edley and Odette Menier Douget.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou on Friday, July 10, 2026 beginning at 9:00 AM. A rosary will be recited at 11:15 AM.
