MAMOU-It is with great sadness that the family of Derrell Landreneau announces his passing on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at the Savoy Medical Center in Mamou surrounded by his loved ones. He was 63. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. Anns Catholic Church in Mamou on Monday, September 7, 2009 at 2:00 pm. Entombment will be at New St. Anns Cemetery with Father Jude Theirry Celebrant.

A native and resident of Mamou, Derrell was the previous owner and operator of Landreneau Auto Repair in Mamou. In his younger years, he was a fireman with the Mamou Fire Department.

A loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, Derrell will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Gracie Brignac Landreneau of Mamou; two sons, Brian Luke Landreneau and companion, Mary of Santa Fe, TX, and Johnathon Mark Landreneau and wife, Amy Lynn of Washington; one daughter, Mary Christina Landreneau of Alexandria; two sisters, Nettie Howard of Mamou and Judy Bourque of Coteau; five grandchildren, Evan Mark Landreneau, Derrellynn Grace Landreneau, Virginia Ann McCaslin, Chassedy Marie McCaslin, and Linda Lucille Wooldridge. He left those who knew him with warm memories to cheer us and fill our hearts.

Now he rests in heaven with his parents, Aldes and Berthaline Landreneau.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Mamou on Sunday, August 6, 2009 from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Monday, August 7, 2009 from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Sunday evening.
