David Teddy Jackson

February 18, 1960 — May 25, 2024

MAMOU – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Teddy Jackson on Saturday, May 25, 2024, surrounded by his beloved family, at the age of 64.

His heart overflowed with love for simple pleasures; often found on his back porch, savoring a cup of coffee, and cooking delectable sauces with his beloved Jennifer by his side. Family held a sacred place in his life, as did his loyal, Annie and Patchy, his adored puppies.

Dedicating his days to the Town of Mamou's Sanitation Department, he served his community dutifully. A true homebody at heart, David cherished the time spent with loved ones in the comfort of his home.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and a strong sense of familial devotion that will forever be cherished by those whose lives he touched. He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Jennifer Jackson; his daughter, Tricia Rider (Greg); two grandchildren, Calix and Tagen; his sisters, Debbie Jackson, Denise Fontenot (Kim), Donna Andrus (Josh), Sharon Grice (Jason); his brothers, Jarome Jackson (Pam) and Nick Vondick (Val), Lamar Jackson (Shanna). Also left to cherish his memories are his aunts, Rose Ourso, Sherline Fontenot and Linda O’Connor; his uncle, Allen Jackson; and brothers-in-law, Michael Reed, Patrick Reed (Kathy), Mitchell Reed and Nicholas Reed; stepfather, Carol Bondick and numerous nieces and nephews.

David is proceeded in death by his mother, Ethel Fontenot; his father, Teddy Jackson and stepmother, Illona Jackson; his uncles, James Fontenot, Preston Fontenot, John Fontenot and William O’Connor.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for family and friends to share the memories of David Teddy Jackson.
