MAMOU-Funeral Services will be held at a 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou on Wednesday, December 11, 2019, for Cynthia Chasar, 71, who passed away on Monday, December 9, 2019.
Father Billy Massie, pastor at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, will be celebrant of the mass and will conduct all funeral services.
Burial will take place in New St. Ann’s Cemetery.
Cynthia Chasar was born on October 21, 1948 in Mamou, LA to Emily and Vernice Manuel. Cynthia worked as a nurse for many years at Dr. Frank Savoy’s office. She enjoyed playing Pokeno and was a long-time member of the local group. Cynthia was a huge Saints fan. Win or Lose she was always cheering on the Saints. Her greatest love was the love she had for her family. She was a selfless woman who gave everything to ensure her children’s success. She adored her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Scott Manuel and wife Rachel and Frank Chasar, Jr.; daughter, Anna Opry and husband Landon; and brother Elton Manuel and wife Karen.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Emily and Vernice Manuel; husband, Frank Chasar, Sr.; sister, Laura Lejeune; and brother-in-law, Lawrence Lejuene.
The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Mamou on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 from 4:00 PM until 10:00 PM. A rosary will be recited by Deacon Chuck Ortego at 6:00 PM Tuesday. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 from 8:00 AM until time of service.
