Curtis "T-Coy" Jack, Sr. passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 24, 2025, in his hometown of Ville Platte, Louisiana, at the age of 79. Curtis was born on Monday, February 25, 1946, in Ville Platte and he lived a life defined by hard work and dedication to his family.
As a self-employed businessman, Curtis specialized in repairing lawn mowers, which showcased his ability to tackle any mechanical challenge that came his way. Known fondly as "T-Coy," he was a man who could do it all, embodying the spirit of an honest businessman who was also a great provider for his family. His personality shone through in everything he did, as he provided for those he loved and worked tirelessly to meet their needs.
Curtis had a deep passion for his work and found joy in going to horse races and spending time cutting grass, activities that brought him happiness throughout his life. He will be remembered not only for his skills and work ethic but also for the warmth he brought into the lives of those around him.
Curtis is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Gilda Frilot Jack. Together, they raised a loving family that includes their sons, Danny Frilot and wife, Daphne, and Curtis Jack, Jr.; daughters, Angelina Jack and Danielle Frilot; and seven grandchildren, Justin, Vashawn, Hailey, Jermaine, Alexis, Layla, and Makayla. Curtis was also a proud great-grandfather to Amaya, Princten, Serenity, Skylyn, and Valien. He is also survived by his sister, Jenelle Stagg, along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.
Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Mary Serie Jack; brothers, Reverend Freddy Durgain and Rodgers Jack; sisters, Irene Bellard, Earnestine Thomas, Inez Stuart, and Dorothy Jack; and his grandson, Sebastian Clark.
Family and friends are invited to honor Curtis’s life at the visitation on Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM both taking place at the Word of Faith Gospel Church in Mamou.
Curtis "T-Coy" Jack, Sr.'s memory will linger in the hearts of all who knew him, a gentle reminder of the importance of family, hard work, and the joy of life’s simple pleasures.
