MAMOU – Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou on Friday, June 4, 2021, for Clyde Luke Fontenot, 86, who passed away on Tuesday, June 1, 2021.
Father Billy Massie, Pastor of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, will be celebrant of the Mass and conduct funeral services.
Entombment will take place in New St. Ann’s Mausoleum.
Clyde Luke Fontenot was born on December 15, 1934, in Chataignier, LA to Hampton and Hazel Fontenot. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a member of American Legion Post #123 in Mamou, LA. Clyde was a self-employed welder who worked in the oilfield for many years. He enjoyed spending time outdoors saltwater and freshwater fishing.
He is survived by his brother, Francis Roy Fontenot and wife, Henrietta of Eunice; daughter-in-law’s, Laura Fontenot of Lake Charles and Tracy Fontenot of Baton Rouge; his four grandchildren, Jimmy, Corey, Madison and Morgan; and two great-granddaughters, Isla Rose and Kairi Rose.
He is preceded in death by his wife. Elaine Landreneau Fontenot; sons, James Patrick Fontenot and David Glenn Fontenot; and parents, Hampton and Hazel Fontenot.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Friday, June 4, 2021, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou from 8:00 AM until time of service.
