Celina Bertrand, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026, at the age of 63 in Ville Platte, Louisiana. Born on April 3, 1962, in Mamou, Louisiana, Celina was a vibrant force whose life was woven with love, faith, and a deep commitment to her family and community.
She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of over 45 years, Blake Bertrand, and her adoring children: sons, Robbielee Bertrand, Jordan Bertrand and his wife, Robin, Trent Bertrand and his wife, Kalyn, and daughter Danyette Cormier and her husband, Jebby. Celina's legacy lives on through her grandchildren—Madalie Alyse Bertrand, Parker Bertrand, Alydia Cormier, Brianna Cormier, Cameron Cormier and his wife Kolby, Tatum Bertrand, Emmie Joe Bertrand, Mason Bertrand, Baylor Bertrand, and Ivy Bertrand—who held a special place in her heart and often filled her days with joy and laughter.
Preceding her in death were her beloved parents, Kervin and Clarita Aucoin, and her siblings: Ella Jane Blanchard, Burton Aucoin, Kervin Aucoin Jr., Roger Aucoin, Jonathan Aucoin, and Ricky Aucoin. Though she mourned their loss, Celina's spirit remained strong, buoyed by her unwavering faith.
Throughout her life, Celina dedicated herself to serving others as a cafeteria worker for the Evangeline Parish School Board at Vidrine High School, where she nourished not only the bodies but also the souls of countless children and staff alike. She was known as a great cook and loved preparing special meals for her entire family. She and Blake relished time spent camping while pursuing her passion for antique shopping. Celina took great pleasure in sewing and making ceramics. There was not an extracurricular activity that her grandchildren participated in that she would not attend. A devout Catholic, Celina recited her rosary at least twice daily alongside her husband, allowing her faith to guide her through every season of life.
Celina’s life will be honored with a visitation at Ardoin's Funeral Home of Mamou on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 9:00 AM until 8:00 PM, where family and friends will gather to celebrate her life and share fond memories. A special rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM that evening, led by Deacon Ben Soileau. The visitation will resume on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 8:00 AM until 12:30 PM, allowing more time for loved ones to pay their respects.A funeral mass will follow at St. Ann Catholic Church at 1:00 PM, celebrated by Father Alex Lancon, where all are invited to join in this sacred ceremony to commemorate Celina’s beautiful life and her steadfast love for her family and community. After the mass, Celina will be laid to rest in Eunice, Louisiana, where her spirit will continue to shine brightly, much like the love she shared and the lives she touched. As we gather to honor Celina Bertrand, may we reflect on the legacy of love she leaves behind, rejoicing in her memory and the countless moments shared with her. She will forever remain in our hearts, a guiding light and a symbol of unwavering faith.
