It is with profound sadness that the family of Bobby Malcolm Yarbrough announces his passing on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, in Mamou, Louisiana, at the age of 79. Bobby was born on Wednesday, February 6, 1946, in Wharton, Texas and lived a full and vibrant life, characterized by his strong will and a love for his family and friends. Funeral services will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou on Monday, September 22, 2025 at 1:00 PM.
Bobby was a man of many talents, known for his career as a truck driver and mechanic among numerous other jobs. He was truly a Jack of all trades, and had a personality that was a blend of strength and warmth; he embodied a friendly spirit and a tireless work ethic that inspired those around him.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for three years during which he served in Vietnam (E-4 37th Army Division), and his life thereafter was filled with pursuits that reflected his passions. Bobby enjoyed fishing and taking care of his animals, which included, dogs, cats, and birds but especially his horses. He found happiness in riding his motorcycle, woodworking, and watching NASCAR and his favorite football teams, namely the Oilers, Saints, and Texans. Additionally, Bobby loved planting flowers for his wife, Ramona, to tend to, and he took pleasure in keeping an eye on his security cameras.
Bobby is survived by his devoted wife of 34 years, Ramona H. Yarbrough; sons, Bobby Paul Yarbrough and Michael Yarbrough, both of Jamestown, New York; daughters, Kasey Ann Yarbrough of Scott, Kandice Broussard (Josh) of Duson, Kristie Beorgeois (Luke) of Church Point, and Rachel Regina Yarbrough of Port Arthur, Texas. He also leaves behind four step-daughters Bridget Balfa of Mamou, Kim Moon of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Kelly Cory (Jeff) of Spring, Texas, and Karen Kiesling of Sour Lake, Texas. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Daniel Rainey, Danielle Brown, Kaynen Yarbrough (Danielle), Stevie Ashford (Brandon), Christian Cory (Alicia), Kelcie Sumrall (Thomas), Kennedie Lacroix (Lex), Shai Balfa, Emily Castille (Connor), Isaac Yarbrough, Kassidie Bourgeois, Dusty Cory, Ian Wyble, and Livi Broussard, along with numerous great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Linda Dibble (Emmitt).
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm Ardene and Ora Rachel Yarbrough, step-son, Benjamin H. Balfa, as well as his brothers, Kenneth Yarbrough and Johnny Yarbrough (Georgia).
Visitation services will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Mamou, on Sunday, September 21, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and continuing on Monday, September 22, 2025, from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
Bobby Malcolm Yarbrough will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His life was a testament to hard work, passion, and unwavering devotion to family.
