MAMOU-It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Bobby Rider announces his passing on Monday, May 04, 2015 at his home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, May 06, 2015 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Mamou. Rite of Committal will follow in the Bieber Cemetery with Father Mark Melancon, Celebrant.
Bobby was a Navy Vietnam Veteran who served his country proudly on the U.S.S. Enterprise. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, Bobby will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 45 years, Judy Verrette Rider of Duralde; sons, Scott Rider of Duralde, and Jacob Rider and wife, Ashley of Mamou; daughters, Robin Jenkins and husband, Huey of Mamou, and Kimberly Cruz of Arizona; brothers, Renny Rider of Baytown, TX, and Toney Rider and wife, Beverly of Conyers, GA; and eleven grandchildren.
Bobby is preceded in death by his beloved parents, James Adam and S.L. Guillory Rider; and brother, Michael Rider.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 05, 2015 from 4:00 pm until 11:00 pm, and again on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 from 7:00 am until time of services. Deacon Chuck Ortego will recite a rosary Tuesday evening at 6:30 pm.
