MAMOUIt is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Bertha Reed, 78 announces her passing on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 4:34 pm at Savoy Medical Center in Mamou. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 4:00 pm at St. Anns Catholic Church in Mamou. Rite of Commital will follow in the New St. Anns Cemetery in Mamou.
Bertha will be greatly missed by her two sons, Carl Wiggins and wife, Patrice from San Jose, Ca, and Randy Reed of Youngsville two daughters, Janice Guidry and husband, Erwin and Sarah Doucet and husband Mitchell both of Mamou one brother, J.Y. Smith and wife, Deola and one sister, Percy Mae Howard both of Mamou ten grandchildren, Tosha Cormier, Quentin Guidry, Garrett Wiggins, Ian Wiggins, Andre Doucet, Slade Doucet, Skotti Sneed, Courtney Reed, Aaron Romero and Martine Alexander and fourteen Greatgrandchildren .
Bertha will now reunite in Heaven with her husband, Bradley Reed, her parents, Amillian and Ola Smith, and two brothers, J.B. Smith and Melvin Pep Smith.
They surely await her arrival with open arms and joyous hearts.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 9:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 3:30 pm Family and friends may view the online obituary and sign the guestbook at www.ardoinfuneralhomes.com.
