MAMOUIt is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of BJ Berzas, 35, announces his passing on Wednesday, November 05, 2014 in Ville Platte. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 07, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anns Catholic Church in Mamou. Rite of Committal will follow in the Reed Cemetery in Lanse Meg with Father Mark Melancon as Celebrant.
BJ will be greatly missed by his father, Kim Berzas and Bridget of Duralde and his mother, Melissa Ann Vasseur of Basile three sons, Jacob Berzas and Tyler Langlinais both of Lafayette, Hayden Berzas of Mamou and a daughter, Layla Berzas of Pineville one brother, Joshua Chapman and wife, Melissa of Baton Rouge and two sisters, Jamie Darbonne and husband, Paul of Basile and Ashley LeBouef and husband, Dustin of Duralde his fianc Helena Beard of Pineville a host of nieces and nephews. BJ will also be missed by his paternal grandparents, Rayford Blackie and Wanda Berzas of Duralde and his maternal grandmother, Karina Vasseur of Basile.
BJ will now reunite in Heaven with his maternal grandfather, Erin Louis Vasseur. He is surely awaiting him with open arms and a joyous heart..
At the request of the family visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Mamou on Thursday, November 06, 2014 from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 6:15 p.m. Thursday evening. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Friday until time of services.
