Beau Brandon Bellard, known lovingly to many as "Bocephus," passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and unwavering dedication. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ann's Catholic Church on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Father Casey Dugas. Following the Mass, Beau will be laid to rest at Bieber Cemetery.
A lifelong resident of Mamou, Beau was a man whose presence would bring a smile to even the darkest of days, explaining why he was loved by so many.
For more than a decade, Beau served as the Head Custodian at Mamou Elementary, a role he embraced with pride. To him, it was never just a job, it was a calling and the school was not just where he worked, it was part of who he was. He cared deeply for the children, working tirelessly to ensure their environment was safe, welcoming, and full of care.
Beau found joy in the life he built with his fiancée, Crystal Ann Stelly. Their love was constant and unmistakable; where one was, the other was always there; they were inseparable. He was a gamer at heart, often enjoying his PlayStation and gathering with family and friends over games like UNO and Cards Against Humanity. Beau also enjoyed traditional Louisiana Cajun French music, especially listening to KBON, which he did most of his days.
He had a passion for cooking outdoors, where he spent time making sausage with his brother and sister-in-law. His love for food was well known with spaghetti being his favorite dish, and seconds were always guaranteed, with leftovers rarely surviving the night.
Above all, Beau was a man of deep faith and integrity. His life was a testament to quiet dedication-to God, to his family, and to doing what was right, whether anyone was watching or not. He gave his all in everything he did, not for recognition, but because it was who he was.
Beau leaves behind to cherish his memory his fiancée, Crystal Ann Stelly; his brothers, Tommy Bellard (Tamara), Steven Bellard, and Nelson Bellard III; sister, April Dawn Bellard; and his beloved nieces and nephews, Taytum, Terra, Trevin, Owen, Carter, Dakota, and Nathaniel. He is also survived by his fur babies, Chewy and Cassie and his reptile, Demi.
Beau is reunited in heaven with his father, Nelson Joseph Bellard Jr.; his grandparents, Nelson Sr. and Lessie Bellard, and Gladwood and Lillie McGee; as well as his parrain, Phil Broussard, and Mark "Bones" Guillory and his nanny, Angel Sarafin.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 23, 2026 beginning 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary being recited at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will resume Friday, at 8:00 a.m. until time of the Mass.
