Arthur William "AJ" Buxton, Jr., a spirited soul known for his loving nature, left us on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at the age of 33, in Mamou, Louisiana. Born on Friday, February 28, 1992, in Eunice, Louisiana, AJ lived a life that can only be described as vibrant and full of passion. His enthusiasm for everything automotive was evident to all who knew him; he found joy in shiny, fast cars, and spent countless hours driving along the back roads or watching exhilarating car races.
Professionally, AJ thrived as an assistant manager at Jiffy Lube, where he combined his love for cars with his dedication to customer service. He approached each day with a smile and a heart full of dedication, leaving a positive impact on those around him. AJ's journey through life was marked by a love for adventure and living in the "fast lane," embracing every moment with enthusiasm.
AJ's personal life was enriched by the love he shared with his companion, Stacey Alvarez of Pineville, and his son, Caden Abshire. He was surrounded by a supportive family that included his brother, Bobby Fontenot of Mamou, and his sister, Kristie Buxton Lasage (Billy) of Eunice. AJ cherished his role as an uncle, providing guidance and warmth to his niece, Chelsea Buxton of Eunice; his nephew, Joey Buxton of North Carolina; and three great-nephews, Clayton Johnson, Joshua Buxton, and Chandler Buxton, as well as three great-nieces, Emily Mitchell, Amelia Lee, and Piper Grace Buxton.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Gwendolyn Baker and Arthur Buxton, and a brother, Edgar Boone.
As we remember AJ, we celebrate a life well-lived, a loving spirit who will forever be cherished in the hearts of all who loved him.
