Andrew “Drew” Godeaux, 25, a lifelong resident of Mamou, passed away on April 2, 2026. A proud graduate of Mamou High School, Class of 2018, Drew was known for his strong work ethic and dedication as a foreman with Deshotel’s Construction.
Drew lived life to the fullest. He was outgoing, positive, and full of energy, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. He had a rare ability to connect with people, whether through quick conversation, a shared laugh, or lending a helping hand. Though a simple man at heart, Drew had a complex spirit—hard-headed and strong-willed, yet deeply loyal and caring. He kept his friends close and valued every moment spent with them.
A natural teacher, Drew loved showing others the trades he had mastered, always encouraging them with his belief: “You can do anything if you put your mind to it.” He never asked for help but was always the first to offer it when others were in need. He was known as a practical joker who loved a good time, Drew brought joy and laughter wherever he went. His faithful dog, Champ, was his constant companion and a source of comfort.
He is survived by his Supermom, Robin Deshotel; his father, Shane Godeaux and Sandy; his brothers, Cade Godeaux and Lainey Nicholas, and his pride and joy, his little brother, Eli; Dakota Bordelon and Olivia; his sister, Gracie Godeaux and Mike Blanchard; his grandparents, James Deshotel and Debra Godeaux; his nieces, Vivian, Marilyn, and Salem, his nephew, Damon; as well as many close friends and relatives who will cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Elizabeth Deshotel, and his grandfather, Edmond Godeaux.
Drew will be remembered for his big heart, his unwavering determination, and the light he brought into the lives of those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
