MAMOU It is with great sadness that the family of Alphy Fontenot, 65, announces his passing on January 16, 2010 at Savoy Medical Center. Funeral services will take place on Monday, January 18, 2010 at 1:00 pm at Ardoins Funeral Home in Mamou, Louisiana. Rite of committal will follow in the Pine Point Cemetery in Mamou.
A loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather, Alphy will be missed by his wife Velma Lebleu Fontenot of Mamou, one son Jamie Lebleu of Pine Praire, three daughters Suan Longino of Mamou, Ruth Fontenot of Mamou, and Virginia Fontenot of Ville Platte, two brothers Nerril Fontenot and Charles Tim Fontenot, eight sisters Darnell Guillory, Audrey Dorrell, Sandra Fontenot, Adwiner Deshotel, Lorraine Vidrine, Wylene Fontenot, Debbie Bordelon, and Della Bordelon, and eleven grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Allen and Marjorie Granger Fontenot.
Family request that visiting hours be observed Sunday, January 17, 2010 from 11:00 am until time of service. A rosary will be recited on Sunday evening at 6:45 pm.
